k-9_pals_logo K-9 PALS (K-9 Placement & Assistance League, Inc.) is the all-volunteer non-profit organization for dogs located at the Santa Barbara County Shelter. K-9 PALS works with County Animal Services to provide care and services to stray and abandoned dogs, and to find new homes for adoptable dogs accepted by Animal Services. K-9 PALS does not directly accept dogs. Quarantined and protective custody dogs remain under the jurisdiction of Animal Services. (805) 681-4369
Buns_logo BUNS (Bunnies Urgently Needing Shelter) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that cares for stray and abandoned rabbits at the Santa Barbara County Animal Shelter. BUNS does not directly accept rabbits. (805) 683-0521
DAWG_Logo DAWG (Dog Adoption & Welfare Group) is a volunteer-run, non-profit group with its own shelter. It is located near the Humane Society and the County Animal Shelter. DAWG specializes in taking dogs from the County Shelters to create more space for incoming dogs. They also work with dogs in need of special medical treatment, training and rehabilitation, and fund a free spay/neuter program for pit bulls and pit bull mixes. (805) 681-0561

Care4paws_logo C.A.R.E.4Paws (Community Awareness, Resources & Education) works to reduce pet overpopulation, keep animals out of shelters, and improve quality of life for pet families in need on the Central Coast. Its critical services include free and low-cost spays/neuters, veterinary care, and vaccine events in C.A.R.E.4Paws’ own mobile veterinary clinics; distribution of pet food and supplies; support for pet families exposed to domestic violence through Safe Haven; and Paws Up For Pets humane education.
