K-9 PALS (K-9 Placement & Assistance League, Inc.) is the all-volunteer non-profit organization for dogs located at the Santa Barbara County Shelter. K-9 PALS works with County Animal Services to provide care and services to stray and abandoned dogs, and to find new homes for adoptable dogs accepted by Animal Services. DAWG (Dog Adoption & Welfare Group) is a volunteer-run, non-profit group with its own shelter. It is located near the Humane Society and the County Animal Shelter. DAWG specializes in taking dogs from the County Shelters to create more space for incoming dogs.
