Covid-19 Response

Social Distancing is Better with a Cat!

We are open for Remote Adoptions!

As our community confronts a serious public health threat, we also recognize the psychological and emotional impact of living responsibly during the rising COVID-19 pandemic. ASAP offers a solution that may help many who are staying home: adopting a cat. To ensure the health and safety of our community, we have moved our Adoption Application process online and we are doing all of our cat matching and counseling by phone.

Please click here to fill out our Adoption Application and one of our Adoption Counselors will be in touch to set up a phone appointment.

For those who can’t make a forever commitment, please consider options for fostering one or more cats at your home. Click here to sign up to be an Emergency Foster Family.

Not only does feline companionship reduce stress and provide comfort during difficult times, but our shelter cats need your help! Adopting or fostering a cat is a way of supporting our community during the COVID-19 crisis.

While our shelter is closed to the public, we are still here to help! Please call (805) 683-3368 or email info@asapcats.org for more information about fostering.

If the COVID-19 situation becomes even more critical, in order to provide emergency foster care for our cats, we will need your help!

What can you do to help shelter cats during the COVID-19 emergency?
ADOPT!
Consider temporarily fostering a cat! Short-term fostering ensures that cats will spend time in a cozy, loving home while waiting for their forever family as our shelter remains closed to the public.
Donate! The needs of the cats don’t stop with COVID-19, and we need your support to provide food, shelter and veterinary services.
